Sights in and around Goslar
The “Kaiserpfalz”
- such an “historic ground” like Goslar is hard to find in Germany
- over 1000 years ago, the first German emperors decided what had to happen to their country
- today, important banquets or meetings can take place in the “Kaiserpfalz” – we will shape the right setting for you
“The Rammelsberg”
- the city and its surroundings were characterised by an over 1000 year old mining history

Der Achtermann
- Although 500 years younger than the “Kaiserpfalz”, the “Rosentorzwinger” presents itself as traditional and dignified as the former and is now the hotel DER ACHTERMANN
- the restaurant “Altdeutsche Stuben” with its impressive wall paintings and roof carvings is the perfect place for rustic lansquenet meals or festive dinners. The international menu includes specialities of the Harz Mountains and high-quality food.
- special themes or unusual events?- we are the right partner for you
- “Witch night“, “Brazilian evening” and many more - for getting into a good mood – let us realize your ideas
Old town of Goslar
- Besides the Mines of Rammelsberg, the old town of Goslar also belongs to the UNESCO world cultural heritage
- Over 1500 half-timbered houses of different eras in the centre of the ancient city walls are waiting to be discovered
- Start your sight-seeing tour at the historical market square and stroll along through the idyllic, cobble-stoned alleyways. Besides the town hall with the pompous Hall of Homage and the “Kaiserworth”, the former guildhall of cloth merchants, the carillon with rotating figures is definitely a visitors’ magnet. Four times a day, these little figures tell the story of the mining industry of Goslar with the miners’ song.
- Only a few steps away, you will find the stairs to heaven (“Himmelsleiter”) which lead to the top of the market church’s tower where you are rewarded with a fantastic view over the whole city
- Situated closely to the Kaiserpfalz you will find the Collegiate Church Vestibule, the remains of the former Collegiate Church of St. Simon and Judas.
- A visit of one of the 5 museums of the town or of the 10 hospices and churches of the Middle Age or simply a relaxing walk along the former fortifications are also definitely worthwhile.
